FUNKY, PLUM, BLACKCURRANT, CHERRY

An all day drinking funky number this is. It’s great. There’s a load of ripe fruit sweetness to it with that funky body running through that comes with an anaerobic natural. I think this a real session coffee, not overly processed but there’s a bit more to it than a regular washed lot. Roast wise, towards medium with this one, brews well across all methods and plays in milk nicely. If you normally go for a ‘house’ bean or a blend, and fancy a lot that’s a little more lively, dip your toes in here! Enjoy! Joel

THE COFFEE ITSELF

Gaitania is a village located in the Planadas municipality in the department of Tolima. Planadas has a story that contributed to the charm of their people and of the department itself. It was a region in which political prisoners were sheltered from the Liberal party. Over time both parties, Liberales and Conservadores, established a good relationship consequently leading to the famous kindness of people from Planadas to that is-known throughout the country.

This coffee is produced by the indigenous community of Gaitania who live across different indigenous territories in Cauca, Huila, and Tolima.
