TANGERINE, FLORALS, SWEET & JUICY

This is a very special recession proof lot. I nabbed the last box of this from our importer which is why I could get it in at this price, a naturally processed, 88 cup scoring, Gesha! Two things with this, it really is pushing the ‘recession proof special’ envelope, it is a bargain, and secondly, holy smokes it’s good. Most of the Gesha we get in is washed, and with that you have a lovely syrupy cup, this is naturally processed and it unlocks a whole new level of flavour, very sweet and juicy, it is a fruit bomb in the cup. It’s roasted light toward medium and I’d suggest a filter brew, or patience with espresso. It’s also worth mentioning, Luis was responsible for that cracking Ombligon coffee we had at the start of the year, he knows his stuff.

This one really is limited quantities, I have half as much as I normally get, don’t wait.

Enjoy, Joel.

THE COFFEE ITSELF

This coffee was grown by Luis Anibal Calderon at the farm Villa Betulia. This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. The coffee was sundried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved. This microlot is 100% Gesha. This varietal was first discovered in Abyssinia, Ethiopia in 1931. Gesha was planted in Panama for the first time in 1963 and in Colombia in 2005.
